Bunny Maze, a tactile puzzle maze that encourages both sighted and visually impaired children to use their imagination and problem-solving skills. Players guide two rabbit characters—a large and a small one—to different destinations, whether it’s bringing them together, finding a carrot, or reaching the house.
Key features include:
Tactile Feedback: Magnets help align pieces, enhancing the experience for visually impaired users.
Open-Ended Play: No strict rules, allowing for creative scenarios and fostering critical thinking.
Puzzle Maze Mechanic: Combines a maze and puzzle to develop problem-solving skills.
High-Contrast Colors: We used clear color contrasts for accessibility, ensuring visibility for all vision levels.
Textural Variety: Different textures, including 3D-printed objects, allow children to use touch for navigation and exploration.
This design promotes inclusive, multi-sensory learning and encourages imaginative play.
Outcome & impact

“A tactile puzzle game for visually impaired children, to enhance critical thinking and problem-solving.”
Bunny Maze
Back to work
Despite the existence of various support groups, visually impaired children still face barriers to social engagement and participation (Metatla et al., 2020). We developed a tactile puzzle game for sighted and visually impaired children aged 4-6, enhancing critical thinking and problem solving through a shared learning experience (social play).
